FAMILY ENGINEERING TODAY - Mastering the Rules of Engagement

I fly back to Nigeria every year to give back to a system that has given so much to many of us but something was different this time around for me because I wanted to take a posture of the typical expatriate who flies into Africa.

I wanted to feel what they felt and attempt to see what they see that has made a lot of them remain in Nigeria. With a population of over 200 million people there was always going to be something that is special about Nigeria.

 I flew into Lagos and opened my eyes to see what a typical expatriate was looking for and had several meetings in Abuja and a few other cities. I did some consulting jobs based on recommendation and boom, I found what I was looking for. Surprisingly, it was not something new but rather a confirmation or the practicality of what I had taught over the years as a theory.

It was the same strategy that prevented the Jews from extermination in ancient Persia and same strategy has made and destroyed people.

It is called - Rules of Engagement.

Without Mordecai creating a script that got Esther into the palace, you can bet the Jews would have been a toast. However, Esther didn’t get there on a platter; she understood the rules of engagement

Every nation, territory and sector is governed by the power centers but the power centers have rules of engagement that if you don’t master how to successfully navigate you are more or less a toast.

The Master himself recognized that you are a sheep in the midst of wolves whose favorite meal is sheep. You must master the game of contact without contamination such that the wolves must think of you as a wolf when you are actually there to take over.

Without understanding the rules of engagement in your sector you have already lost the plot. But when you take your time to understand the rules, it become so easy to carefully navigate the rules for you to win and that is why it is said that the most flexible man is the one that controls the system.
